Rules & Procedures

SeniorsAloud (SA) operates mainly via social media i.e. Facebook, Blog/Website and in particular, Whatsapp. As our numbers are huge, there must be rules in place to ensure security, confidentiality and respect for all.

  1. Limit posts of good morning, thanks, well done, congrats, festive greetings, condolences. Consider sending them directly to the member concerned.
  2. If you have submitted a survey/feedback/registration form, no need to post ‘Done’ in the chat group.
  3. If you are unable to join an activity/event, no need to explain why you are unable to join.
  4. Do not post stand-alone emojis. They take up space. Use them as a reaction to a post.
  5. Do not solicit business from SA members via SA activity groups. Do it privately and personally. Don’t involve SA.
  6. Do not add or recruit SA members into your private chat groups without their consent.
  7. Post in the correct groups e.g. music videos in Jukebox, Health info in Brain Health group.
  8. Observe no-posting hours from 11pm to 7am unless urgent. Posting hours are strictly from 7am to 11pm.
  9. Add the admins of your activity groups to your contact list so they can see who you are, or you risk removal from the group.
  10. Personal whatsapp profile photos must show the member, and not an object or an avatar.
  11. Do not carry on a long 2-way chat in SA whatsapp activity groups. Take it out and chat privately.
  12. Any registration form or membership template must come directly from SA, not forwarded from members.
  13. Any member who leaves or is removed from the main group will automatically be removed from all other SA activity groups.
  14. All members across all SA whatsapp groups (incl sub-groups) must post their personal profile pic and a name that SA can identify you with e.g. Sara Goh, Goh Pei Li or Pei Li. No initials or just a surname. Your photo and name are for identification & for security.
  15. Do not remove or replace your profile photo. It may result in your removal from ALL SA activity groups that you are in.
  16. If you are concerned about confidentiality, add to your contact list only those members whom you allow to view your photo, and they must add you too. It has to be MUTUAL for both parties to see each other’s photo.

SeniorsAloud operates on mutual trust and respect. Any member found repeatedly breaking rules or harassing members will be removed from our community.
